Boasting a children’s area and a fully accessible building with elevators, the Breckenridge Welcome Center and Museum are meant to be explored by all who visit town. The museum is open every day of the year with free admission.

Swimming, Ice Skating, & Fitness

With adult classes, kids’ camps, and a newly renovated facility, the recreation center has activities for all ages and abilities. The building is wheelchair accessible, boasts a lap pool equipped with a hydraulic lift, and a leisure pool with full ramp entry and rentable waterproof wheelchair.
Summer camp and after school camp have recreational therapists for children to assist with a multitude of needs. Private adaptive fitness classes also available with advanced notice.

Hiking:
Visit Isak Hartstone
The Trollstigen Trail to visit world-famous art-piece Isak Hartstone is a fully wheelchair accessible 48″ trail. The surface is smooth and made of compacted stone, free of roots, rocks and obstacles making it great for power wheelchairs, manual wheelchairs, and walkers. It has a maximum grade of 3% and offers two resting spots along the short trail. We invite people of all abilities to find the magic of Isak during the summer and fall, however the trail is NOT maintained in the winter. Snowy and icy conditions can be expected between December and May.
Other Accessible Summer Trails
Visit the historic Reiling Dredge trail to explore a former gold mining location, which has two designated ADA accessible parking spots and smooth compacted trail surfaces with rest areas. There are also interpretive signs of the mining history. Another great option is the Sawmill Reservoir, which will have two accessible parking spaces as of fall 2024, and a flat, wheelchair-friendly trail with multiple rest areas.

Between the Gondola, ziplines, Jeep tours, bungee trampolines, Gold Runner Coaster, Alpine Slide, Colorado Chair scenic ride, and Breck Flyer Zipline, there are rides available for all abilities. Provide Breckenridge Resort with at least 72 hours notice for best accommodations.

Activities range from adaptive ski and ride schools, adaptive yoga, canoeing and kayaking, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, ropes courses, and more. BOEC offers incredible adaptive specialty camps for those with: MS, brain injuries, Parkinson’s, sensory processing disorders and autism, developmental disorders, and veterans who suffered injuries.
