Although some restaurants are closed Christmas day, many are open on Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Christmas and New Year’s Eve Holiday Dining in Breckenridge

Carboy Winery

The Gold Pan Saloon has stood for over 140 years playing host to gunfights, outlasting Prohibition, and boasting the longest continuous liquor license west of the Mississippi.

The Gold Pan Saloon adds another chapter with the addition of Carboy Winery, a unique Colorado winery offering a selection of select Carboy wines in bottle and on TAP! This New Year’s Eve they are offering a four-course paired dinner with wine, a champagne toast and midnight celebration. The Gold Pan is also offering a$10 shot and a beer combo, all day on the 24th and 25th!


Try the Pears & Burrata to share and finish off with the Peanut Butter “S’mores” Cake.

New to Breckenridge, Aurum features locally sourced, seasonally fresh ingredients to boot. Join them this New Year’s Eve for a five-course pre-fixe meal with an included glass of bubbly. A wine-pairing option is available as an add on. They will be open Christmas Eve and Christmas day, operating business as usual.

Blue River Bistro

For New Year’s Eve, look into the Blue River Bistro for a special evening of Jazz music, fine dining and good company. They’ll be open on Christmas and will have a New Year’s Eve “Best of the Bistro” Limited Menu including favorite items and specials.

The Hearthstone Restaurant will be open throughout the holiday season; however you’ll have to book early for New Year’s Eve. Always popular, this place has lots of charm and some of the best views in town. A warm fireplace upstairs flanked by one of the many Christmas trees puts you in a great spot to see lots of hustle at this unique dining spot in an old Victorian house. A great choice is the Crispy Lobster to start, followed by the always delicious Lamb Rack.

Breckenridge Distillery Restaurant

Tasty spirits with a side of Hipster Fries.

Celebrate the holiday season with friends and family at Breckenridge Distillery Restaurant. They are offering a special, seasonally inspired prix fixe menu on Christmas and New Year’s Eve, and are open Christmas Eve and Day with limited hours. Book soon! Spaces are limited. 

Robbie’s Tavern

The newest restaurant on Breckenridge Ski Resort will be open for Christmas. Located at the base of Peak 8, indulge in great food while being treated to incredible views. Reservations are available!


Another option on New Year’s Eve is Relish, sitting above the Blue River Plaza, just off Main St. with awesome views of the ski area. Though closed on Christmas Day, Relish will be open on New Year’s Eve and will have a special four-course menu. Relish always sells out for New Year’s Eve, so book early.

Briar Rose

Briar Rose Steak
The Briar Rose Chophouse and Saloon has been serving the finest aged beef and fresh wild game in our landmark downtown restaurant for decades.

If wild game is a little more your style, a must-hit location is the Briar Rose Chophouse. They’ll be open on Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve. The Venison Chops with Lingonberry demiglace is great. Happy Hour is super fun as well, and the hunters will love this place.

Not to be outdone, the cozy yet modern Ember will be open with specials on Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve. They are now taking reservations for New Year’s Eve, featuring a three-course dinner with a champagne toast.

Running holiday-themed specials, Modis is closed on Christmas day, but open every other day at 113 S.Main St. One of the more interesting interiors of any restaurant in town, the dining room features a grand staircase and loft seating under a majestic clerestory style window. Their cocktails are legendary in town, too.

Salt Creek Restaurant & Bar

Featuring one of the best steaks in the county, Salt Creek will have their doors open throughout the holidays with a special menu for New Year’s Eve. Reservations are now open.

Sauce on the Maggie

Located on Maggie’s Pond at the base of Peak 9, this Italian eatery will have you craving for more after every dish. Sauce on the Maggie is open for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day during regular hours, as well as New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Reservations are available.

More Christmas and New Year’s Dining Options in Breckenridge

Doma 1898, The Blue Stag Saloon, Mother Loaded Tavern, South Ridge Seafood Grill, Spencer’s Steaks & Spirits, The Swiss Haven, Mi Casa Mexican Cantina, Quandary Grille, and Sevens are open throughout the Christmas and New Year’s holiday.

Though closed on Christmas Day, many others are open on Christmas Eve and throughout the New Year. Many of the local bars and restaurants charge cover or progressive cover for New Year’s Eve, so try to get there early. No matter your choice, you can always find something to get you in from the cold weather and also give you delicious calories to burn skiing, snowmobiling or sledding.
