2. Take a Bike Tour
It’s no secret, fall rides are some of our favorite rides! The cooler weather means you won’t heat up going uphill, the number of people on the trails decreases, and the views are hard to beat. Not into mountain biking? You can pedal around town or take a tour of the county on our bike path. If you are looking for a bike ride with a twist, try out the distillery and spirits bike tour or sample a few brews on a fat bike brewery tour. Those who are more interested in taking in the veiws should sign-up for the Vail Pass Shuttle, a scenic downhill bike ride that drops you off at the top of Vail Pass and takes you back to Breckenridge after you arrive in Frisco.
3. Hit The River
There is great fly fishing available year-round in Breckenridge but the trick is knowing where to go! Sign-up for a full or half-day guided tour to get geared up, transported, and taught the secrets of casting and catching by a local expert. Guided tours are available for those who are new to the sport, new to the area or those who are just looking for a good time!
4. Get Into The Halloween Spirit
Take an evening stroll through Breckenridge’s haunted historic district and learn about its dark past! Breckenridge is the home of multiple haunted ghost tours, cemetery strolls, paranormal investigations and historic tours that’ll give you goosebumps and get you in the mood for Halloween!
5. Taste Your Way Through The Afternoon
Did you know Breckenridge is home to the highest winery and the highest distillery in North America? Or that it has a hometown brewery that boasts the title of Best Brewery in Colorado? Drink local and head out to one of these libation stations for a behind the scenes tour, tasting, blending class, flight, or afternoon delight! If you love Breckenridge’s tasty concoctions, don’t miss the Breckenridge Craft Spirit Festival (Oct. 19-21, 2018). The event features small-batch distillers, artisan spirit seminars, a spirited cooking class, scavenger hunt, fine local cuisine and of course, plenty of sampling. Meet the distillers and taste the creations of 40 distillers Saturday night at the Still on the Hill Grand Tasting!
6. Hit the trails without breaking a sweat
There are plenty of ways to explore the trails beside hiking and biking. From guided horseback riding tours to Jeep, ATV and UTV tours, there is a way to get out there for every level of adventurer. Families with small children will enjoy off-roading adventures at 13,000ft while those looking to mix adventure with romance can sign-up for a sunset wine and cheese tour overlooking the mountains.
