Each Independence Day, we kick off the Breckenridge 4th of July party with a 10K trail run, followed by the Firecracker 50 mountain bike race and the Main Street parade. Family activities, live music, a performance by the National Repertory Orchestra and an extraordinary fireworks display close out the night. Don’t miss Breckenridge Creative Arts’ “Street Arts: Patriotica!”, which celebrates street, pavement and graffiti arts with outdoor murals, installations, workshops and pop-up art. Breckenridge’s 2018 Independence Day Celebration will take place on July 4th.

Independence Day 10K Trail Run
This scenic 10k trail running race offers up some of the best views in the Breckenridge area while finishing just in time to catch the Main Street parade and other festivities. This race is limited to 400 people and usually sells out in June! Start and finish at Carter Park.
The Firecracker 50 Mountain Bike Race
Go it alone or compete as a team in the Firecracker 50, a spectacular mountain bike race on July 4th! Kicking off the parade with a neutral start format down Breckenridge main street, the odyssey sends you into the backcountry featuring 4,000’ climbing, rippin descents and plenty of flume and singletrack. Register today for this marquee MTB event!
Fourth of July Garden Party
Annual Breckenridge Heritage Alliance Garden Party at the Barney Ford House Museum. Enjoy coffee, mimosas, and breakfast spread as you watch the Breckenridge Fourth of July parade in style from the best view on Main Street.
Main Street Parade
The official parade will start at 10:00am with the Red, White and Blue Color Guard. The Firecracker 50 Mountain Bike Race will lead off the parade & it will take 800+ riders ½ hour to get down Main Street in waves. Reading of the Declaration of Independence by George Washington (C.J. Muller) will be immediately following the parade in the Blue River Plaza.

Street Arts: Patriotica!
A celebration of street, pavement and graffiti arts that will feature a weekend of 3D murals, live music and hands-on workshops at the Breckenridge Arts District campus. Presented by Breckenridge Creative Arts.
National Repertory Orchestra
4th of July Patriotic Concert – For almost 20 years, the Town of Breckenridge and National Repertory Orchestra (NRO) have collaborated to present a Patriotic Concert each July 4th at the Riverwalk Center in Breckenridge, CO. In order to prevent numerous empty seats due to unused free tickets and in order to offer tickets online at a greater convenience to all of our guests, the Riverwalk Center Box Office will sell indoor reserved seat tickets.

A brilliant and dazzling fireworks display is slated to begin at 9:45pm and will be launched near the Gondola lots, making them visible throughout town. At 9:15pm, a portion of Park Avenue will be closed for public safety and will re-open after the show at approximately 11:00pm. The South Gondola Lot will be closed for public safety on Wednesday July 4th.

Your kids will have a blast playing at the Blue River Plaza Fun Zone! Get ready to play all day in the bounce house, massive trampoline and water balls zone.
July 7 – The Wizard of Oz – Film with Live Orchestra
Follow the Yellow Brick Road to the Riverwalk Center and experience the Oscar®-winning classic The Wizard of Oz on a giant HD screen as the National Repertory Orchestra performs the score live. Every scene of this movie’s timeless enchantment is enriched with the unique glories of a live orchestra. Fun for all ages and costumes are encouraged!

35th Annual July Art Festival
The 35th Annual Breckenridge July Art Festival is now ranked at #59 in Sunshine Artist’s top 200 fine art festivals in 2017!!! This established show will feature over 100 artists from around the country. Artists will present ceramics, mixed media, fiber, jewelry, painting, wood, glass, sculpture and much more! You won’t want to miss this fabulous summer weekend of art and mountain ambiance.
Location: Main Street Station at the corner of Main Street and South Park Ave.
In-town paid lots will be available for guest parking (F-Lot, Tiger Dredge, East Sawmill, and Wellington lots). There will be free parking at the Gold Rush Lot, Satellite Lot, and Ice Rink Lot. The Breckenridge FreeRide bus system will service the Satellite Lot and Ice Rink lot on regular scheduling. For free overflow parking, guests can park at Colorado Community College on the north end of town and the FreeRide bus services this lot every 20 minutes throughout the day.
