What to do this Halloween in Breckenridge
It’s one of the best times of the year in Breckenridge. Carved pumpkins and spider webs decorate doorsteps, the brisk October air gets the stoke high for ski season, pumpkin spiced lattes and hot cider are easy to find at Breckenridge’s local coffee shops, and everyone is excited to show off their new Halloween costumes. Whether you’re looking for family-friendly activities or happening nightlife, here’s your guide to Halloween in Breckenridge, from local events, haunted houses , ghost tours, trick-or-treating and more!
Horror in the Mine at Country Boy Mine
Horror in the Mine is a totally new (and extremely scary!) concept to come to Breckenridge. Imagine yourself in the 1880’s reaching the goldfields and new horrors have taken over the mine. Your job is to not only escape from these horrors, but also stop them taking over the world. Meet the Doctor, the Morgue Assistant and join the Marshal’s posse, go 1000 feet into the mine of horror, try to stay alive long enough to stop the world being taken over. Recommended for ages 12+.
When: Thursday, Friday and Saturday. October 3rd to Nov 2nd 4:30 until 8:00pm

Breckenridge Ghost Experience Haunted House
Will you encounter the spirits of Alferd Packer, Ada Finding and The Undertaker at this historic haunted house? Free; donations appreciated.
When: Thursday 10/31. 5-8pm Small Scares for Small Folk (ages 4-12); 8-10pm Big Scares for Big Folk (ages 13+).

Breckenridge Ghost Tours and Haunted History
Breckenridge Haunted Tour
Prepare to be haunted by eerie tales of Breckenridge’s past on this popular tour through the historic district. This is the only haunted tour that takes you inside the Briggle House, which is claimed to be haunted by spirits from Breckenridge’s early days. Guides share eerie stories from Breckenridge’s past (by lantern light), which remain unexplained today! $20/adult, $15/child
When: Wednesdays and Saturdays through October at 7:30pm. Special Halloween Tour on Thursday 10/31!
Where: Meet at the Breckenridge Welcome Center, 203 S. Main St.
Ghostly Tales Tour
This is the original ghost tour of Breckenridge (started in 2010), with new sites and updated information. Explore the darker side of our wild west past with our chilling tales of the ghosts that remain here. Ghost hunting equipment provided! Adult $19, Child $12 (4-12)
When: Monday through Saturday at 7pm
Where: Meet at the Yacht Club (formerly Dredge Restaurant), 180 W. Jefferson
Tombstone Tales at Twilight Tour
This twilight tour through Breckenridge’s Valley Brook Cemetery, on the National Register of Historic Places, reveals ornate, carved gravestones representing some of the town’s earliest art and written history. This is the only guided tour of Breckenridge’s historic cemetery. Valley Brook Cemetery is full of secrets and surprises ranging from how it was designed to who is (and who is not) buried there and why. Our guides have the answers! $20/adult, $15/child

Voices from the Grave Tour
This walking tour starts at the site of the original cemetery of Breckenridge. Hear the history of the town’s burial grounds and also the stories of the locals that are buried here. Visit their places of business or homes on the way.
When: Monday through Friday at 10.30am
Where: Meet your costumed guide at 505 S. Main St., by the fire pit in Main Street Station. Gail will be dressed in costume!
Milne House in Mourning: A Wake for Ada Finding
An exhibit highlighting late 1800’s mourning customs, superstitions and etiquette. Available for viewing on the Walk Through History Tour, Breckenridge Haunted Tour, Halloween Teas and Haunted House. Free; donations appreciated.

Breckenridge Craft Spirits Festival
Join us this October 18-20, 2019 for the annual Breckenridge Craft Spirits Festival featuring small-batch distillers, artisan spirit seminars, a spirited cooking class, ghost tours, scavenger hunts, fine local cuisine and of course, plenty of sampling. Meet the distillers and taste the creations of 40 distillers Saturday night at the main event, the Still on the Hill Grand Tasting!
Dia De Los Muertos Celebration
Dia De Los Muertos, or “Day of the Dead,” is a multi-day, traditional Mexican holiday celebrating ancestors and loved ones who’ve passed. This is not a day of sadness, but a day where the dead come alive to celebrate with family and friends, and to come together support one another’s spiritual journeys.
Join us in this November 1- 2, along with BreckCreate, for a celebration filled with arts and crafts, live performances, featured installations, face painting and more. Learn about new cultures and traditions, right here in Breckenridge!
Trick-Or-Treating in Breckenridge
Thanks to the Breckenridge Police Department, Harris Street and High Street will be closed to motorized traffic for trick-or-treating, making it easy to meet up with friends and fill up on treats. Sweeny Todd at the Breckenridge Backstage Theatre
Catch Breckenridge Backstage Theatre’s live performance of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. In this infamous tale, an unjustly exiled barber, returns to nineteenth century London seeking vengeance against the lecherous judge who framed him and ravaged his young wife. The road to revenge leads Todd to Mrs. Lovett, the resourceful proprietress of a failing pie shop, above which he opens a new barbershop . Mrs. Lovett’s luck shifts when Todd’s thirst for blood inspires the integration of an ingredient into her meat pies that has the people of London lining up, and the carnage has only just begun!

Kids Trick or Treat “Tea”
Wear your costume and come ready for pranks and parlour games! Have your fortune told by a Gypsy Fortune Teller while enjoying treats and cider in the historic (and scary) Briggle House. $10/child (recommended for ages 4-12); adults free. Space is limited so advance tickets recommended.
When: Sunday 10/20, 1-3pm

Witch’s Brew Trick or Treat Tea
What do witches drink? Whatever it is, we guarantee it is not as nice as the tea and snacks we serve on this historical tour with exclusive access to the historic (and scary) Briggle House! Reservations required two hours prior to tour.
When: Saturday 11/02, 2-4pm. $30/adult, $20/child

11th Annual Halloween Dodgeball Tournament
Do you think you have what it takes to dodge witches, goblins and maybe even White Goodman? Our Annual Halloween Dodgeball Tournament is your chance to show off your skills AND your costume! A minimum of six players per team is required with at least two females. All teams must register by 12:00pm on Friday, October 25.
When: Friday, October 25th 6-8pm
Where: Breckenridge Recreation Center, 880 Airport Rd.
Seek clues, solve unique puzzles, answer questions and work together to try to escape! These all-age friendly Breckenridge-themed rooms consist of stories, decorations and technology to immerse you in a fun game for all. You’ll have 60-minutes to complete each of your adventures!
