St. Patrick’s Day – March 17, 2020

St. Patty’s Day is on a Sunday this year which means there will be St. Patrick’s Day celebrations all weekend long!  Plan to wear green on the mountain and keep an eye out for food and drink specials around town.  Looking to burn a few calories before indulging in some green beer? Don’t miss the St. Patrick’s Day 5K.

The Breckenridge Spring Beer Festival features brews, views and free live music, so it’s an event you won’t want to miss!

Breck Pride – April 1-5, 2020

Breck Pride Week has turned into a staple event in Breckenridge as the town hosts a 5-day celebration for the LGBT community. Official dates and events TBD. Our authentic, rockin’ little mountain town (with a backyard that happens to be a world-class ski resort) is home to all the goods this March. From daily après parties, ski/board lessons, to shopping, dining, dancing, catching a world-class DJ, and much more- this week shouldn’t be missed!

 

Easter – April 12, 2020

For one day this season, there’ll be bunny on the slopes! Join us in Breckenridge for a Sunrise Easter service at Tenmile Station and other Easter festivities around town. Easter is one of the spring events in Breckenridge that is perfect for the whole family to enjoy.

 

Big Mountain Events

“Earn your Turns” this year at the Imperial Challenge!

Helly Hansen Big Mountain Challenge 

This IFSA sanctioned event features Peak 6, Breck’s newest terrain.The Sixth Senses area of Peak 6 features steep lines, tight chutes, and big cliff drops. This event will test some of the best big mountain Freeskiers in the country as they compete for points in the IFSA series.

 

The Five Peaks 

So you’ve skied all the Peaks of Breckenridge in one day, gotten an EpicMix Pin and bragging rights. Now imagine climbing each one before you ski down. The annual Five Peaks Race is part of the rising popularity of ski mountaineering. Known as America’s longest ski mountaineering race, teams of two compete in the short and long courses, skinning, boot packing and skiing over the high-elevation peaks of the Ten Mile Range near Breckenridge, CO.

 

Imperial Challenge 

The Imperial Challenge is one of the only events that celebrates “earning your turns!” The first leg of the competition starts with a 6.2-mile bike race (or run) from the Breckenridge Recreation Center to the Peak 8 base area, via back roads and past Peak 7. From the Peak 8 base area, competitors will snowshoe or skin up to the top of Peak 8 and on to the top of TBar before descending back down on skis or board. Register for this unique competition or watch the accent from the Tbar located on Peak 8.

 

The Royal Flush

The Breck Ski & Snowboard School will host the annual BAM (Breck All Mountain) Big Mountain Competition on Peak 8. This event has been a perennial favorite for our Breck All Mountain students, where they get the chance to showcase their skills in an intro level competition atmosphere within the perfect setting of Contest Bowl. Competitors are judged on style, fluidity and line choice.

 

Breckenridge Spring Finale – TBD

Nothing closes out the season like a good pond skim on closing day!

While most ski resorts are beginning to ramp down operations this spring, Breckenridge Ski Resort’s spring season is just getting started! With more than 100 inches of snow in March and 380 inches of snow so far this season, skiers and riders can look forward to incredible spring conditions during the resort’s extended season, officially dubbed Breck’s Spring Finale. Snow or shine, beginning Monday, April 22 and running through Memorial Day, skiers and riders will be able to enjoy approximately 1,000 acres of terrain on Peaks 6, 7 and 8, as weather and conditions permit. The Peak 7 base area will serve as the hub of all operations during the extended season.
