49th ANNUAL ULLR FEST IN BRECKENRIDGE, COLO.

Community gears up for town-wide snow dance honoring Norse god of snow

BRECKENRIDGE, COLO. - Jan. 11, 2012 – The 49th annual Ullr Fest is underway in Breckenridge, Colo. The weeklong festival pays homage to Ullr (rhymes with cooler), the Norse god of snow, in hopes of bringing additional snowfall to Breckenridge and the surrounding peaks. Festivities include one of the world’s wildest parades, a town bonfire, wacky Ullympic competitions and more. Since the start of the festival on Jan. 8, Breckenridge has received over 9 inches of snow and as of Jan. 11, the white stuff is still falling.

Footage includes snowy town shots, interviews, crowning of the 2012 Ullr king and queen, 2012 Ullympic events and past parade footage.
