Breckenridge Resort Chamber Announces New Events Director

Former U.S. Ski Team program director Sandy Metzger to lead events department

BRECKENRIDGE, CO - Apr 18, 2011 – The Breckenridge Resort Chamber (BRC) today announced the appointment of Sandy Metzger as the organization’s new events director. Metzger joins the team with extensive events and marketing experience, both within the community and in the national and international arenas.

“Sandy comes with deep roots in the special events world,” said BRC president and CEO John McMahon. “Her success with the U.S. Ski Team and Breckenridge Ski Resort speaks for itself. We’re extremely pleased to have Sandy as our newest team member, who will continue to elevate the special events in our community.”

Metzger’s career portfolio, which consists of more than 20 years events experience, most recently includes a position as program director for the United States Ski Team. While there she led the program’s annual fundraising efforts, served as event director for international competitions including World Cup events and developed marketing and public relations plans, including a rebranding of the program. In her prior role as marketing events manager for Vail Resorts, Metzger produced all aspects of community, fundraiser and international-level events at Breckenridge Ski Resort.

Metzger worked frequently with the BRC during her time at Breckenridge Ski Resort and is excited to now apply her far-reaching experience to the year-long calendar of events produced by the BRC.
