GRAND OPENING AND RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY TO CELEBRATE OPENING OF SUMMIT CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU AT THE INFORMATION CENTER IN THE GREEN VILLAGE, OUTLETS AT SILVERTHORNE, ON TUESDAY, JUNE 29, 2010 AT 4:00PM.

BRECKENRIDGE, CO - June 24, 2010 – The newly created Summit Convention and Visitors Bureau will be opening its doors on Tuesday, June 29th. To celebrate the grand opening of the CVB, there will be a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 4:00pm on June 29th at the Information Center located in the Green Village at the Outlets at Silverthorne, Unit 246-V Rainbow Drive, directly behind Wendy’s.

This new organization is dedicated to bringing group business to Summit County by connecting with its members so they experience the richness that is ALL of Colorado's Playground...Summit County...both in summer and in winter. Sharon Russell, CVB Founder and President, states, “We are so excited to be the advocate for an entire county experience for groups who come to Summit. What sets us apart from more traditional CVB’s is that in addition to servicing groups who respond to our marketing , we intend to “create” group experiences as well , increasing group travel in that way. In the coming months, we will be looking at county-wide events designed to give the traveler a well-rounded Summit trip….and more reasons to return for another trip.” The Summit CVB is adamant about growing group business by encouraging travel during what historically may have been considered less busy times. Ultimately, the goal of the organization is to “raise the bar” to increase tourism as well as working to ensure the best guest experience possible for every visitor to Summit County.

“We are thrilled to have a partnership with the Summit Convention and Visitors Bureau,” said Dottie Montana, General Manager of the Outlets at Silverthorne. “There are so many folks seeking information from us and working with the CVB provides us yet another avenue for serving them the best way possible.” Steve Craig, President of Craig Realty Group-Outlets at Silverthorne, LLC, commented, “It is clearly obvious there is a need for such an organization in Summit County and we wish them every success in this endeavor.”

Community members and business owners are invited to attend the Grand Opening. Refreshments will be served and individuals will be given the opportunity to learn more about the CVB organization. For more information, call the CVB office at 970.468.0353.
