Breckenridge Addresses Changing Economy With Economic Summit
Breckenridge, Colo. – November 10, 2008 – As the current economic climate continues to raise questions about the upcoming winter season’s visitation, the Breckenridge Resort Chamber, the Town of Breckenridge’s Economic Development Advisory Committee (BEDAC), and Breckenridge Ski Resort are hosting a Breckenridge Economic Summit to address questions and exchange ideas. The Breckenridge Economic Summit, “Addressing the Challenges and Opportunities of a Changing Economy,” is scheduled to take place from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, November 17 at Beaver Run Resort, 620 Village Road in Breckenridge.
Join prominent leaders from the Breckenridge community for a panel discussion about how to adapt to economic challenges and ways the town, ski resort and community can assist in those efforts. The discussion will be moderated by John Warner, Mayor of Breckenridge. Panelists will include: Bruce Horii – Director of Sales and Marketing for Beaver Run Resort, Rob Katz – Chief Executive Officer of Vail Resorts, John McMahon – Executive Director for the Breckenridge Resort Chamber and Harry Wooley, Commercial Lender for Wells Fargo Bank.
The format of the Economic Summit will include brief presentations from each of the panelists, who will hone in on their areas of expertise with viewpoints from the Ski Resort, lodging community, business community and financial community. Topics to be discussed include business projections for the upcoming season, impacts of the changing economy and ideas for adaptation. The Summit will conclude with a question and answer session from the audience.
The Breckenridge Economic Summit will be videotaped by Summit County Television Channel 10 to be replayed at a later date.
