The Colorado Rockies are known for some of the best fishing in North America. Following a snowy winter, the crystal-clear waters of Breck’s Blue River run with Rainbows, fat Browns and the occasional Cutthroat trout. The Blue River runs south to north directly through the heart of Breckenridge, providing ample areas to cast in your fly or just sit and enjoy the relaxing rush of a running river.

In addition to the Blue River, the surrounding mountains are full of high alpine lakes with views that will take your breath away in more ways than one.

If traditional fishing is more your style, the Colorado Division of Wildlife stocks nearby Lake Dillon with more than 50,000 rainbow trout at the beginning of the summer season.

There are several fishing companies around town that will be happy to help you select some flies or take you out on a personal guided fishing trip. Make sure to read on everything angler at the Breck Connection. Insights include top fly fishing spots around Breck and profiles of some of our locals you might encounter while waiting for the next bite.

For more information on angler shops, guided tours and what to do during the summer, contact the Breck Information Specialists at (877) 864-0868.
