Just north of Breck is the fresh-water, mountain run-off reservoir of Lake Dillon. This lake, sitting at just over 9,000 feet above sea level, has more than 26 miles of shoreline, two marinas on either side and is a popular fishing, kayaking/canoe, motor boating and sailing lake. The area surrounding the lake offers many camping and RV opportunities and is enclosed by a popular and scenic 18-mile paved bike path that encircles the entire reservoir. Additionally, at the beginning of every summer Lake Dillon is stocked with more than 50,000 rainbow trout by the Colorado Division of Wildlife, fact that music is to the ears of fisherman.

Also operating on Lake Dillon is the Lake Dillon Water Taxi, which provides service between Frisco Marina and Dillon Marina and offers exceptional views of the surrounding mountains from the water. We recommend making a day of it: rent and ride a bike from Breckenridge down the Blue River Recreation Path and jump on the water taxi in Frisco or in Dillon; make sure to grab a beverage and lunch along the way.
