Planning Tips – Before you Book

Before you book that perfect Breckenridge ski vacation, you may want to consider some of the helpful planning tips below. Ski Season (November – April)

The skiing and winter activities are abundant in Breckenridge from early November through mid-April. Ski season is an ideal time to visit this world-class ski resort, authentic mining town and breathtaking landscape for your holiday.

Early season is a great time to experience Breckenridge at a more affordable rate! Plan your trip for between opening day and December 20th to find the most economical winter package.

Many love to celebrate the holidays in Breckenridge, and if you fit into this group, we recommend that you book your travel by Labor Day to ensure that you will find the properties that are best fit for you and your family. It is common for many Breckenridge resorts and hotels to require a minimum five-night stay during the holiday season.

Spring Break is another exciting and active time for Breckenridge, on and off the mountain. For those who wish to spend their spring getaway in the Rockies, we recommend that you book your package by mid-December. Waiting until February may be disappointing with more scarce lodging availability. It is common for many resorts and hotels to require a minimum five-night stay.

During off-peak ski season times, you can usually find better rates on lodging and occasionally two-for-one deals at local restaurants. The winter value season typically runs from January 1st until President's Day weekend. Some specials are also available if you arrive after President's weekend and before March 4.

April is an incredible time to ski and ride in Breckenridge. Exclusive deals are easy on the wallet; fewer people travel and snow conditions are typically excellent. The town also hosts a wealth of Breckenridge events and activities throughout April as a part of Spring Break.

Summer (June – August)

Summer is an amazing time to experience the Rockies of Breck. In fact, many say that the winter brings them to Breckenridge and the summer entices them to say. The temperatures are near perfect in the 70s, and the special activities and events are overflowing with fun. The season begins in June and lasts through early September. Summer adventure packages usually require the shortest lengths of stay and offer a great variety of activities. Stay and play packages can be tailor-made to include golf at the Jack Nicklaus designed public golf course, rafting numerous rivers, spa treatments, horse back rides, ATV or gold mine tours, biking, hiking and much much more. The opportunities for summer fun are endless here in Breckenridge.

Fall and Spring (May, September, October)

Breckenridge is truly a year-round destination, and offers incredible experiences for those choosing to visit during shoulder season. Many find these times as enjoyable as the summer or ski seasons, and much kinder to the bank account. Some of the restaurants and activities may have off-season hours, so you’ll want to make sure to do an extra little bit of research when you arrive. Most summer happenings kick-off on Memorial Day Weekend and run strong through the end of September. May and September offer near peak conditions for outdoor recreation, and Breckenridge loves its Indian Summers, where the weather remains at about 70 degrees. You can also enjoy unbelievable lodging and dining deals in September and early October. In mid September, Breckenridge closes Main Street for a weekend to host its renowned Oktoberfest, an event you won’t want to miss.
