Independence Day Weekend: 7/2/2010 – 7/4/2010

Celebrate Independence Day with lively entertainment, free activities and dynamic family fun. Breck’s Independence Day celebration kicks off with a 10K trail run and continues throughout the day with the Firecracker 50 bike race leading the vibrant Fourth of July Parade on historic Main Street, July Arts Festival on Ridge Street, live music, kids' activities and so much more. End the night with the National Repertory Orchestra performing a patriotic concert at the Riverwalk Center with an extraordinary fireworks display to follow.

NRO Concert “All American Program”

Picasso’s 3 Musicians

Blue River Series Concert: Preservation Hall Jazz Band
Named after the venerable music venue located in the heart of New Orleans' French Quarter, the band has traveled the world to share and nurture the art form of New Orleans Jazz since its founding nearly forty years ago. 7:30 p.m. at Riverwalk Center. INDEPENDENCE DAY - July 4, Sunday

Independence Day 10K Trail Run - This scenic 10k trail running race offers up some of the best views in the Breckenridge area, while finishing just in time to catch the Main Street parade and other festivities. 7:00 a.m. Register at www.townofbreckenridge.com or call 970.453.1734.

ResortQuest & Main Street Station Present the Breckenridge Sunday Market - Every Sunday, 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., June 20 - Sept. 12, 2010 at Main Street Station Plaza, Breckenridge. At the Breckenridge Sunday Market you'll discover a fabulous farmers market, combined with an artisans craft market showcasing exotic crafts from around the globe. There are over 40 vendors each week offering specialty foods including fresh seafood and beef, freshly baked breads and pastries, chutneys, jams and our old fashioned favorite, kettle corn. Farmers are on hand with Palisades peaches, organic salad greens, fresh herbs and home grown vegetables. Craft vendors travel the world and bring to the market clothing, scarves, purses and art, while others are true artisans and hand make a variety of unique art and useful products.

Firecracker 50: USA Cycling Marathon Mountain Bike National Championship – 10:00 a.m. start, the race launches the 4th of July Parade in front of thousands of spectators. 12 National Champions will be crowned and there are also categories for Sports, Beginners, and 2-person teams. Fourth of July Parade – The Breckenridge Fourth of July Parade begins at 10:00 a.m. on North Main Street and proceeds to the south end of town. People interested in registering a float in the parade should contact Heidi at 970.453.5055 for a registration form. **Staging for the parade is on North Main Street between French and Watson Streets. Please enter Main Street from the north. Encourage guests to gather anywhere on Main Street (between Ski Hill/Lincoln and S. Park Ave.) to see the parade.

Kids’Water Fight – Kids’ can join the Red, White & Blue Fire Dept. in an old time water fight on Main Street. Free for kids to participate. A hit every year. 12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Sons of Norway Park Dedication - The Town of Breckenridge will honor three pioneers from Voss, Norway for their contributions to our rich skiing heritage on Sunday, July 4th with the dedication of the ‘Sons of Norway’ park located along the River Walk between the Welcome Center and The Crown’s patio - 1:00 p.m.

Viper ‘Show and Shine’ - Vipers will be parked on Main Street allowing spectators to view the cars. Noon – 2:00 p.m.

Free Concert: Big Bad Voodoo Daddy - Big Bad Voodoo Daddy’s irresistible live show and aggressive, musically perceptive approach has proven them over time to be the singular standout among the numerous bands that launched the Nineties swing revival. This seven-man group forged a massively successful fusion of classical American sounds from jazz, swing, Dixieland and big-band music. Free show! 2:00 p.m. at the Riverwalk Center.

National Repertory Orchestra: 4th of July Patriotic Concert - There is free lawn seating. Tickets are required for indoor seating and will be available in person at the Riverwalk Center Box Office on Thursday, July 1 at noon, no phone or online orders available. 8:30 p.m. at the Riverwalk Center.

Fireworks – 9:30 p.m (weather permitting) can be seen from around downtown Breckenridge.

July 5 - 10, Monday - Saturday
