**Please note new condensed schedule for 2018** Join us January 22nd - January 29th, 2018 for the 28th Annual International Snow Sculpture Championships! Sculptures will be taken down Monday night, January 29th by 8pm.7pm and then they will disappear under the darkness of night- just as magically as they appeared!

Where are the sculptures located?
The Snow Sculptures are located in the area around the Riverwalk Center at 150 West Adams Avenue, Breckenridge, CO 80424. Event headquarters are in the Riverwalk Center and referred to as the Thaw Lounge + Music .

Discover the process of snow sculpting, information about the teams and lots of interesting trivia. Located in the Thaw Lounge+Music, this exhibit explores the last 27 years of the International Snow Sculpture Championships.
Don't Forget to Vote
Support your favorite sculpture with the People's Choice Vote. Voting occurs throughout sculpting week through Saturday, January 27 at 2:00 p.m. Text the code of your favorite sculpture to vote, more details can be found in the Thaw Lounge & Music and at each scupture.
The Magic of Ice
Don't miss the spectacular Ice Village, located at the Riverwalk Center . Each intricate carving is sculpted into a glowing statue. The sculptures represent many of the supporters of the Snow Sculpture Championships.
Park and Stay Awhile
Free parking is available at the parking lot off of Airport Road- free transportation to the event from the Airport Lot will be provided from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Click here for more information about parking in Town.
Catch a Free Ride
Free public transportation is available throughout the town from 6:30 a.m. to 12:00 a.m., provided by the Breckenridge Free Ride. Maps are available at Event Headquarters located in the Riverwalk Center at 150 West Adams Avenue, The Welcome Center on Main Street, Breckenridge Station and on each bus and trolley or click here to find out more about the Breckenridge Free Ride. The closest bus stop to Event Headquarters is the F-Lot, which is serviced by most bus routes.
Please be aware that this is a snowy, high alpine environment. Dress warmly and appropriately with high traction shoes.

IMPORTANT PARKING INFORMATION
Where may visitors park to see the event?FREE PARKING:
1/27-1/28 ONLY - CMC lot off of Highway 9 in Breckenridge. free transportation to the event from the Airport Lot will be provided
All Other Days - the parking lot off of Airport Road- free transportation to the event from the Airport Lot will be provided
On Saturday, January 27 and Sunday, January 28: All Free Event Parking will take place in the CMC lot off of Highway 9 in Breckenridge (107 Denison Placer Road). There will be plenty of signagne to guide you to this lot. A Special Event Shuttle will be running from the CMC lot to the event from 10am to 6pm both days. This will be free transportation for all event guests and guests who arrive on the bus will receive a free commemorative pin. Busses will run frequently so guests will never wait too long.
All other days, free parking is available at the parking lot off of Airport Road- free transportation to the event from the Airport Lot will be provided.
Most of Dowtown from Park Avenue to Ridge Street and most downtown lots are now pay parking. Please Click Here for more information about pay parking in town.
Free public transportation is also available throughout the town from 6:15 a.m. to 11:45 p.m., provided by the Breckenridge Free Ride. Please do not utilize the F-Lot Transit Center off of Park Avenue as a turn around or drop off area for cars. The transit center is for buses only.
Parking is prohibited in all Town of Breckenridge operated parking lots between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. during the months of Nov. - Apr. Parking restrictions are strictly enforced. Sleeping or camping in vehicles is not permitted in any Town lot or public street.

Where should private charter buses park and drop off/pick up?
Private charter buses may utilize the F-Lot Transit Center near the Riverwalk (Tiger Dredge) Lot to drop off and pick up guests. Buses may not park on Park Avenue or in the Tiger Dredge Lot. Buses will be directed to park in the satellite/free skier parking off of Airport Road and return to the event site to pick up guests. For more information about parking please click here.

Team China won Gold in the 27th annual International Snow Sculpture Championships with “Mermaid,” a piece that depicted a swimming mermaid.
- Team Sweden won Silver with “4 (Ever) Wheels Reflection.” The sculpture depicted two cars tied together, an expression of both freedom and dependency.
- Team Mongolia-Erdene won Bronze with “We are One Family,” a piece that reflected the idea of animals coexisting with humans and nature.
- In a first-ever tie, Artists’ Choice was split between Mongolia-Erdene and Mongolia-Tserendash.
During competition week, high temperatures in the teens and twenties made for excellent carving conditions. An official awards ceremony took place Saturday, Jan. 28 at the Breckenridge Riverwalk Center. Winners receive medals and recognition from the international snow sculpture community – though no prize money is awarded, all teams receive travel stipends, meals and lodging. The result is one of the world’s most prestigious snow sculpting events, where teams are known to take risks and come together in the spirit of camaraderie.
Teams competing this year included China, Finland, Germany (Theil), Great Britain (Annaly), Iceland, India (Callisto), Italy, Mexico, Mongolia (Erdene), Mongolia (Tserendash), Sweden, Turkey, USA-Breckenridge, USA-Loveland, USA-Vermont, USA-Wisconsin (Tomczak)
