Each Independence Day, Breckenridge kicks off the party with a 10K trail run, followed by the Firecracker 50 mountain bike race and the Main Street parade. Family activities, live music, a performance by the National Repertory Orchestra and an extraordinary fireworks display close out the night. Don't miss Breckenridge Creative Arts’ Street Arts Festival, which celebrates street, pavement and graffiti arts with outdoor murals, installations, workshops and pop-up art. Breckenridge's 2018 Independence Day Celebration will take place on July 4th.

Independence Day 10K Trail Run - This scenic 10k trail running race offers up some of the best views in the Breckenridge area, while finishing just in time to catch the Main Street parade and other festivities. This race is limited to 400 people and usually sells out in June! Start and finish at Carter Park. Click here for more info and registration.
The Firecracker 50 Mountain Bike Race – This mountain bike race launches the 4th of July Parade in front of thousands of spectators. Come cheer on riders as they embark on a 50 mile journey on the beautiful trails in and surrounding the Breckenridge area. Register early as this race fills up very quickly. Race will take place on Main Street
Fourth of July Garden Party -Annual Breckenridge Heritage Alliance Garden Party at the Barney Ford House Museum. Enjoy coffee, mimosas, and breakfast spread as you watch the Breckenridge Fourth of July parade in style from the best view on Main Street.
Main Street Parade –- The official parade will start at 10:00am with the Red, White and Blue Color Guard. The Firecracker 50 Mountain Bike Race will lead off the parade & it will take 800+ riders ½ hour to get down Main Street in waves. Reading of the Declaration of Independence by George Washington (C.J. Muller) will be immediately following the parade in the Blue River Plaza.
Viper Show and Shine- - The Viper Car Show and Shine on Main Street following the parade.
Drum Circle- - Try out your skills at drumming. Join in on the circle to test out your musical talents. Fun for the whole family.
Kids’ Water Activities – - Kids’ can join the Red, White & Blue Fire Dept. in an old time water fight on Main Street. Free for kids to participate. A hit every year.
Free Pony Ride- - Main Street in front of Blue River Plaza compliments of Farview horse rescue.
Street Arts Festival A celebration of street, pavement and graffiti arts that will feature a weekend of 3D murals, chalk drawings, live music and hands-on workshops at the Breckenridge Arts District campus. Presented by Breckenridge Creative Arts.
National Repertory Orchestra: 4th of July Patriotic Concert - For almost 20 years, the Town of Breckenridge and National Repertory Orchestra (NRO) have collaborated to present a Patriotic Concert each July 4th at the Riverwalk Center in Breckenridge, CO. In order to prevent numerous empty seats due to unused free tickets and in order to offer tickets online at a greater convenience to all of our guests, the Riverwalk Center Box Office will sell indoor reserved seat tickets.
Fireworks (weather and conditions dependent)- A brilliant and dazzling fireworks display is slated to begin at 9:45pm and will be launched near the Gondola lots, making them visible throughout town. At 9:15pm, a portion of Park Avenue will be closed for public safety and will re-open after the show at approximately 11:00pm. The South Gondola Lot will be closed for public safety on Tuesday, July 4th.
34th Annual July Art Festival July 1-3, 2017 – The 34th Annual Breckenridge July Art Festival is annually ranked one of the top art shows in the United States. Located at Main Street Station at the corner of Main Street and South Park Ave. For further information please visit www.mountainartfestivals.com. Admission is free.
PARKING INFORMATION FOR TUESDAY, JULY 4TH: In-town paid lots will be available for guest parking (F-Lot, Tiger Dredge, East Sawmill, and Wellington lots). There will be free parking at the Gold Rush Lot, Satellite Lot, and Ice Rink Lot. The Breckenridge FreeRide bus system will service the Satellite Lot and Ice Rink lot on regular scheduling. For free overflow parking, guests can park at Colorado Community College on the north end of town and the FreeRide bus services this lot every 20 minutes throughout the day.
