All Around Breckenridge!

The first weekend in December, the town transforms into a sparkling holiday scene. Participate in the Race of the Santas, where 100’s of Santas race down Main Street to benefit Adopt an Angel and continue the festivities with the Lighting of Breckenridge, where Santa greets holiday revelers from his horse-drawn carriage. Join local businesses for the Breckenridge Arts Expereince, dedicated to the Seven Arts: visual, performing, culinary, publishing, design, film & media and heritage. The following weekend, Winter Dew Tour puts pro snowsports athletes on display with televised halfpipe and slopestyle competitions. When it’s time to ring out the old, live music, bar parties and special restaurant menus punctuate New Year’s Eve celebrations, accompanied by a torchlight parade down the slopes of Breckenridge Ski Resort. A spectacular fireworks display and concert ring in the new year in style.

Dec. 31: New Year's Eve Celebration

Bring in the New Year with a boom! At 9 p.m. watch a spectacular array of fireworks, (launched from between peak 8 and 9). Visibility from all over Breckenridge. Weather permitting, catch the Torch Light Parade (click here for details) flowing down the Breckenridge Ski Resort. Late night: Bars and restaurants throughout town ring in the New Year in true mountain style – choose from clubs and dancing, cocktail bars and fine restaurants.


Nov. 27 - The Holiday Season: Window Display Contest

The Breckenridge Retail Merchants 4th Annual Window Display Contest is back. Businesses must register by October 15th to create the best window displays (must be decorated by November 27 at 5 p.m.). Judging will take place on Saturday, November 30th and the winners will be announced at the Tree Lighting on December 7th. This years concest will have two categories: Window Displays and Building exterior displays (including windows).


Saturday, Dec 7, 2013: Race of the Santas/Race of the Reindeer

Join us as 100’s of holiday enthusiasts of all ages, dressed in festive costumes, race down historic Main Street, Breckenridge. We encourage those who can withstand the thin mountain air to start at the front of the pack, as the top finishers will be awarded Ullr helmets and prize packages. Not a runner? Walk, jog or skip through the 6-block course. You can even join your kids in the Race of the Reindeer, where all kids will be given reindeer antlers. So come out and show your support, all proceeds benefit the local charity, Adopt An Angel. Click HERE for more details.

Free hot cocoa and cookies in the Red, White, and Blue Fire House at 316 North Main Street

Santa arrives in front of Red, White and Blue Fire house (via horse-drawn
carriage) to lead a procession including the Bernese Mountain Dog Parade to
the Blue River Plaza for the lighting of the Town Tree

Visits with Santa at the Barney Ford Museum, 111 E. Washington Ave. Let the little ones share their Holiday wishes with Santa and take a photo too! 

Dec. 12 - 15: Winter Dew Tour

The world’s top ski and snowboard athletes compete in superpipe, big air and slopestyle. Stop by the Dew Tour Experience at the base of Peak 8, music in town and a local rail jam. Click here for event happenings.

Dec. 31: New Year's Eve Celebration

Bring in the New Year with a boom! Watch a spectacular array of fireworks, (launch location TBD). You can find best visibility from downtown Main Street. Weather permitting, catch the Torch Light Parade flowing down the Breckenridge Ski Resort.
